The question
What connects people arriving at Glion from different countries and cultures? Research began on campus, observing spaces, landscape and daily rituals. Students also took part in evaluating the compositions.
The olfactory direction
White flowers, amber, sandalwood, musk and marine notes form the narrative. The concept connects the care of welcoming guests with the school’s tradition and international outlook. Its founding year, 1962, becomes part of the fragrance’s name.
An identity to share
The olfactory signature accompanies campus spaces and moments of connection. Involving the community in the choice brings the perspective of the people who experience these places into the project.
A design lesson
Designing for belonging starts with listening to the people who inhabit a place. Their different perspectives inform both the brief and the criteria for discussing samples.
